Nobody Here Named “TOBY!”

(Editor’s Note: The irony of this archived piece has never left, and is even more important now…
Here’s a REAL look at what is driving the League through “America’s Team” from Back In The Day!)
PHILADELPHIA (www.basnnewsroom.com) It has come to this:
“I know this, we cannot … in the NFL in any way give the implication that we tolerate disrespecting the flag; we know that there is a serious debate in this country about those issues, but there is no question in my mind that the National Football League and the Dallas Cowboys are going to stand up for the flag. So we’re clear.”
(Dallas Cowboys’ owner and general manager, Jerry Jones)
The backlash from former 49ers quarterback/whistle blower, blackball victim and catalyst for change Colin Kaepernick has finally come full circle; but before we get into this…
Yo, Jerry – SHUT THE FUCK UP!!
Nobody wants to hear that ignorant Saltine Cracka bullshit – and there was never any disrespect of the flag!
To quickly review:
Kaepernick stated publicly his reason for protesting had nothing to do with the flag; it had to do with racist actions by the police in killing people of color without proper redress…this was repeated several times by Kaepernick as the 2016 season wound down; so no one couldn’t say they got the story wrong.
The initial actions by the National Football League were not to clarify Kaepernick’s words, but rather to nullify; because the wake of their actions involved trashing his name with inaccurate information pumped by toady “journalists” who need to suck on The Shield’s teat…and you muthafuckas ain’t worth shit!
Followed by C.Y.A. actions to spin this as an attack on the military, Mom, apple pie and ‘biting the hand that feeds him’, the NFL sought to make him a pariah as they continued to do business – this is part of the methodology used to discredit whistle blowers.
Now what exactly did Kaepernick blow the whistle on? As the spotlight shone on damage control by the NFL, lay fans and others discovered:
For many years, the League operated as a 501 (c) (6) corporate entity, having been given not-for-profit status. So all – not some, not half, but ALL that cash from television revenue, playoffs, Super Bowls…cha-ching!
Many in the military and many veterans sided with Kaepernick, saying his freedom to speak was the essence of what they fought for. Former Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura, a retired Navy Seal, in a video on social media, saluted Kaepernick for the courage of his convictions.
Then it was revealed (although BASN Newsroom through The Black Athlete Sports Network brought this out as early as 2009) taxpayer money was being siphoned off for the express purpose of spending it on before game propaganda productions to benefit the military.
I would contend if the NFL were really attempting to benefit the military, they would not have charged the Armed Forces one fucking dime for advertising; especially since they were, at that time operating as a not-for-profit. Not like they couldn’t write off the expenditure – and they were flush with television cash!
After all, you wanna be patriotic, right? Then Arizona state senators Jeff Flake and John McCain (both deceased) wouldn’t have had to stash money – that wasn’t theirs to stash!
Anyone who ever was in a union discovered the NFL Players’ Association was a union – in name only. The rank and file betrayed their dues – paying member by leaving him with no legal recourse to defend himself or protect his job; while its executive director was harder to find than Amelia Earhart’s luggage…
In between all this, Kaepernick’s #7 49er jersey becomes a best seller; and people of color continue to be mistreated by the police. Oh, the flag and anthem thing everyone stands for?
The social media war against Kaepernick produced some chilling collateral damage; as in revealing the third stanza of “The Star Spangled Banner”
Get the Entire FUCK outta here!
So essentially, Francis Scott Key’s punk ass was butt hurt because he was getting his azz whupped by the Brothers – ‘hireling and slave’ my Black ass – let that wave for a bit…
As protests grew along with support for Kaepernick, athletes from elementary school to pro were in sync with Colin as they faced varying degrees of Blacklash. A Texas school was stripped of its opportunity to compete for a conference title because of kneeling; while in Washington state, Garfield High, out of Seattle, also endeavored to kneel in support – with mostly positive results.
With the beginning of this season, some players’ feelings came around after critique from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and Dope 45’s speaking of Kaepernick as being a “son of a bitch” after a death during a white supremacist rally through the streets of Charlottesville, Virginia, where the Commander – and – Thief refused to call the madness what it truly was…terrorism.
Now as the exposure of the NFL’s deliberately producing a low- quality product due to the cushion and equal share aspect of the multi-billion dollar television contract as well as some fan antipathy to “having politics mixed in with ‘their’ sports”, this shit storm had now appeared to be hitting a level of critical mass.
Then Massa Jerry went from Cracka to Full Saltine, flexing his White Privilege by declaring he will snatch away the First Amendment rights of the thirty-odd Black players on the Cowboys’ roster; he sure as shit wasn’t talking to the white ones – and I didn’t see any white Cowboys speaking in support of Kaepernick.
Contrary to previous speculation, washing with Dove Soap ain’t gonna solve that problem for you, Jerry – this is about manhood and how many Kunta Kintes you might have on your current roster!
Thanks to Massa Jerry, “America’s Team” has become “America’s Slaves” – you really think that’s motivation to have your team compete for a Super Bowl?
The inference? “You Niggers better know your place, and (literally) fall in line…or else!”
There were some, in the midst of this who revealed their true colors in making excuses for ignoring the essence of Kaepernick’s message or taking part in supporting the obfuscation of the truth; given the fact Jones and other NFL owners ponied up about $8 million toward Trump’s campaign, it’s not a surprise that the veins are popping from that red neck – and they’re not about to go away…
You better call this song exactly what it is – a buck-breaking of a bunch of scared knee-grows who, if they didn’t realize it before, had better realize it now – there ain’t much difference between 1817 and 2017 when it comes to the mindsets of some of the NFL owners – who thought allowing you to ‘celebrate’ in the end zone would remedy the problem!
When you cash those game checks, remember the toadies will be just as ready to stab you in the back when your time comes as that sound from the owners’ Skybox resounds:
How ‘BOUT MY COW…
“Boys”
always outnumbered…never outgunned.
