ATLANTA — Trent Mays (Central State) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Offensive Player of the Week, while Terrance Leatherwood (Tuskegee) was named Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
Nick Christiansen (Miles) was tabbed Special Teams Player of the Week, while Slade Jarman was named Newcomer of the Week.

Mays powered Central State to a 40-35 win over NCAA Div. 1 FCS Arkansas-Pine Bluff. He passed for 334 yards on 20 attempts while averaging 16.7 yards per pass. He rushed and scored from twenty-seven yards out to pad the Marauders lead.

Leatherwood led with eight tackles (5 solos) to help Tuskegee capture a 33-7 win over NCAA Div. 1 FCS Jackson State. He spearheaded a defense that held the Tigers to 21 yards rushing for the game. His numbers include 2.5 tackles for a loss of 16 yards and two sacks (15 yards).

Jarman helped fuel Fort Valley State to a 37-14 victory over Lane. He completed 19-of-24 pass attempts for 293 yards and four touchdowns. He completed touchdown passes of, 31, 22, 52, and eight yards. It is the second time this season he has posted four touchdown passes in a game and the third game with at least 200 yards through the air.
