The American people have been dealing with a ROGUE president. This president cannot or will not deal with reality and has done so the last four years. President Trump has created another mess in Washington, D.C. with his recent antics.

Not since 1814 our nation’s Capitol was ransacked and damaged by a foreign fighting force, it happened again on January 6th, 2021. Not since British troops roamed the Senate hallways and set fires all over the city in Washington, D.C. has there been an event like this. It happened again, this time by Americans, our own citizens tried to destroy the Capitol building.

America has not changed much in over two hundred years.  The Civil Rights Movement continues, but this country struggles with its past and it cannot go forward without rectifying the past. This country is grappling with the deaths of too many young African American males, with racial strife in police forces and injustice in the criminal court system and an unwilling president to comfort this nation.

When an Egyptian man stands up against the Egyptian army in 2011(Autumn Spring), he is called BRAVE. When a Chinese man stands in front of 10 (PLA) Peoples Liberation Army a.k.a. The Red Guard tanks in 1989 (Tiananmen Square Protest), he is called FEARLESS, but when African-American men or women stand up against the police force in any town in any year in America (Police Brutality), They are called THUGS. This is the reality of the United States of America. What did they call the invaders of the Capitol this week everything but terrorist, and that’s what they were.

WORDS MATTER

The President of the United States the past four years kept playing with matches and he finally lit a wild-fire which quickly got out of control in Washington on January 6th. As my friend stated many times WORDS MATTER. He told his followers in an hour long speech that he would join them marching to the house of Congress.

He told them that the election was stolen that we were cheated and we need to take it back we need our voices heard. So where was Donald J. Trump when this unruly mob crashed the police barricades? Where was he when they broke windows and took down doors? He was in the warm White House watching his words put into action on television.  

African Americans are getting very tired of the double standard and the institutionalized racism which raised its ugly head in 2020-2021. A white mob can invade the Capitol and destroy property but they are called patriots. They can carry the flags of two defeated armies in the hall of Congress and thats o.k. too. Black people march in peace and they are un-American.

I’m getting confused, please somebody help me out here. These mostly Caucasians crowd can start an insurrection and its o.k., but if you are Black you can’t take a knee like Colin Kaepernick at a National Football League game fighting for justice and peace. HMMMMMM Sounds like racial bias to me.

While last summer (Black Lives Matter Movement) millions of African Americans march down those same streets peacefully and they were repeatedly called terrorist REALLY? The police or National Guard on every corner and surrounding the White House. Where were they on January 6th? 

Just ask conservative broadcasters Tami Lahren, Laura Ingraham, Candance Owens, or Sean Hannity, Just ask the recently defeated appointed Georgia Senator Ms. Kelly Lynn Loffler stated there would be riots in the streets by the left wing radical socialist if they moved into political office. Looks like it’s the other way around with seven state capitols threaten with violence. This is what Mr. Trump has brought forth, this is what our country has come too.

 If young Black men and woman even thought about doing what that unruly mob did on January 6th Black bodies would have been laying in the street of Pennsylvania Avenue. There would have been shots fired from every direction right into the crowd from the start. The Black protesters would have never gotten close to the Capitol steps. This is the lingering racial, political, and social legacy of the United States. The question still remains do BLACK LIVES MATTER?   

BRIGHT SIDE

There is a wonderful bright side to all of this political rancor and chaos African American woman have taken the bull by the horns and wrestled it to the ground. The female basketball players (Black and white) of the WNBA Atlanta Dream campaigned for Democrat Reverend Warnock this fall and won. This was after Kelly Loffler part owner told the players she did not want them to wear BLM tee-shirts. Loffler wanted them to wear the American flag. Loffler wanted them to shut up and dribble. How did that work out?

Candidate Stacey Abrams did not get mad when she lost the Georgia governor’s race. Ms. Abrams happened to be the first African American woman to ever run for the office in that state. Ms. Abrams fought against voter’s suppression and racism in her state. She refocused and helped the two Democratic candidates win their state seats and turn the state purple. She got even.

The Atlanta Dream and Stacey Abrams not only change the State of Georgia, they change the Senate, they changed Washington.

This is the path we must take
