Sudden Impact: The Rise of Babolat

By Richard Kent, Staff Reporter

FLUSHING, NY — The US Open has launched the careers of many great tennis players over the years. This year during Fan Week and on August 25th, three Babolat tennis stars helped to launch the new Pure Aero racket in Queens during a festive launch party.

The racket continued the strong and historic Babolat focus on spin.

Babolat CEO Eric Babolat joined forces with last year’s Open sensation and finalist Leylah Fernandez and highly rated male players Carlos Alcaraz and Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Alcaraz is still competing in the men’s tourney and has a legitimate chance to win it all.

Babolat called the trio, “inspiring for kids to see.”

Founded in Lyon in 1875, Babolat is still a family business and is the oldest international company specializing in racket sports.

The heavy spin player makes contact as the ball is coming down from the top of the bounce, imparting spin with explosive power.

Babolat introduced a range of Pure Aero rackets adapted to each player type.
